Little Red WIP#1

This is the wip! I hope to get the white beading done on the teeth, Little Red’s cloak, and the trees. The brown foreground will be accented with embroidery.

Rococo Cinderella WIP #7

Happy Canada Day!

Yep… it’s slowly getting done. Sleeves are next then tiny flowers in her hair. As for the background, I’m not sure what to do yet.

Rococo Cinderella WIP #4

It’s really coming along very very slowly. I wish I could do more but between being very busy with a toddler and debilitating migraines it seems like there is never enough time. I hope to finish this by mid July. This means Little Red will be started then and it’ll be a very close finish by September to submit pieces to the County Fair.

Dreams & Rococo Cinderella WIP #3

Rococo Cinderella WIP #3

Rococo Cinderella is underway. I hope to get the lettering done soon then the pink flowery embroidery on the right side of the over dress. After those two are done, I’ll start the beading and I have wonderful ideas on how I’ll make the center of the blue underdress sparkle.

As I continue working on Rococo Cinderella and plan out future projects, I wonder to myself where my love of embroidery/beading will take me. A long time dream of mine is to host a gallery exhibition of my art work. I really want this to happen. However before I get ahead of myself, I need a large catalogue of work to make it happen.

Here is a short list of future projects:

  1. Rococo Cinderella (underway)
  2. Little Red
  3. 12 Dancing Princesses
  4. Sleeping Beauty
  5. Snow White
  6. Beauty and the Beast
  7. Allerleirauh
  8. East of the Sun West of the Moon

Everything after 12 Dancing Princesses will be up in the air project wise. I may change the order or I may not. I may also add more. I want to have at least 15 to 20  pieces of work before I even start the gallery option. Once I’m finished with a large/beautiful catalogue, then I can explore my options of approaching a gallery with my work or renting a venue myself. The promotional materials will need to be made (posters, postcards, business cards). I’ll need to revamp this site by adding a large gallery section. I also will include inquiries on artwork if anyone wants to buy anything online. A Facebook fan page might also be in order. This is so far into the future I can’t even wrap my head around this yet.

My primary goal is to continue to produce embroidery art and to get better and continue to enter into the County Fair to get some name recognition around here. This is my first priority. Everything else comes afterwards.

I am now fully into beading. It’s really relaxing and the piece is turning out well. I hope I can get this finished by next week.

I have gone back on this project. I hope to add beading to the waves. I hope I can get it done soon so I can return to Rococo Cinderella afterwards. This may be up for sale in my Etsy store in the future.

Alice in Wonderland Trikky WIP # 3

I had to wait for sealant to dry so I took a break for a day. I finished the White Rabbit.

Alice in Wonderland Trikky WIP #4

This is Alice. I sprayed sealant again to make sure everything is protected. It’ll be another 24 hours until I can work on the teacup/Dormouse. I also need to work on the arms which will be “Eat Me” and “Drink Me.”

It’s getting there! 😀

Alice in Wonderland Trikky Project WIP #1 & 2

Alice in Wonderland Trikky WIP # 1

I’ve started working on my Trikky and tried pencil at first. The pencil didn’t stick. I’ve graduated to Micron pens and it did the trick. I began the Cheshire cat and I’ve been pretty pleased with the results.

Alice in Wonderland Trikky WIP #2

This is Tweedledee and Tweedledum. They look exactly as I hoped they would. All the characters will be female. I hope to do Alice on the back with the Mad Hatter. I will adding the Dormouse, tea cup, White Rabbit, March Hare…. so much more to add!

I love returning to ink/line work. It’s been a long time since I’ve concentrated on creating something without colour. I have always used colour as a favourite arsenal in my art work. This is all about lines, line weights, crosshatching, etc. One of the things I’ve learned is to avoid overworking any area. It turns into a smudgy mess otherwise.
