The Professor & Cutie

I have the plushie sweatshop underway! I need to cut about 100 pieces this afternoon then I can start assembling everything.

I will have these octopi available at Doll North. They will sell for $20 each. I hope to have even more styles posted soon. Right now, there are five styles: Sailor, Professor, Pirate, Nerd, Nerd Girl, and Cutie.

What’s been cooking in your kitchens creativity-wise?

Asiago Crab Souffle

I am still cooking/baking. It is my holding pattern for bad days when I’m suffering from migraines. I’ve figured out souffles and can make them! I’m still working on macarons.

As for Doll North stock, I have 4 octopi done. Not decorated but done. I hope to have five colours available: blue, pink, lavender, yellow, and mint green. I hope to have 5 of each making the final total 25. I also want to make Yo-SD swim sets which include a starfish clip, donut innertube, and a bathing suit. It will all fit in well with the sea theme.

I bought a bright green fuzzy shag fabric to use as my main presentation/tablecloth. I will bring all three yo-sds to model and octopi will populate the display! I also hope to bring two giant octopi I am making as presents to friends as props. It should be a very bright and colourful display.

Be well, my friends! I hope you are enjoying the emergence of spring.

Creativity in Different Forms

Dark Chocolate Souffle

Cheese Souffle

When I run into a hard block, I turn to cooking or baking. I’ve been dealing with a massive creative blockage for a while now. There hasn’t been much embroidery, drawing, etc. lately. To cope, I turned to cooking/baking. I’ve been working and failing on making macarons in the past few months. Yesterday, I decided to tackle souffles. Good news, I won! I made a cheese souffle out of paprika and provolone. I then made dark chocolate souffle for dessert. ┬áLast year, one of my resolutions was to learn French Cooking. It’s easier for me because the ingredients are available locally. I’ll be doing desserts and meals. Beware of food porn. It’s here to stay.

I’m hoping to get back into artistic swing of things in two weeks. I’ll be ramping up for the Doll North Marketplace for Anime North. I need to make more ocotopi, presents, my contest entry, and my Coraline cosplay.

What do you do when you hit an art block?
