Dorothy is progressing…. slowly!
I dropped off my artwork yesterday at the Aboveground and also indulged in art supplies! I couldn’t help myself. I got two wooden canvases, tiny paintbrushes, a tombow dual brush set, ink pens, and varnish/gloss. Oh, and the adorable zippered kitty pouch! Thanks to my friend Fishie who gave me a GC. It helped with the financial damage of the day. 8D
December is gonna be busy. I’m still working on a Secret Santa embroidery gift. I should really get on that now.
If you want to check out my work, it will be shown at the Aboveground (it’s right beside OCAD in downtown Toronto) for a month:

Hi,
I just found your blog. I’ve skimmed through your posts and looked at your projects. They are delightful. I’ve been inspired by fairy tales too this year. The inner critic is indeed mean, but I have hopes that it can be tamed a bit and put to good use. Anyone who tells you embroidery is not art is just wrong, wrong, wrong. It is indeed an art form, a very old one too. You should check out the bead journal project run by Robin Atkins. Her website is called beadlust. I got inspired to finally start an embroidery journal project (no reason the beaders should have all the fun!). I’ll be running that from my blog for now. (I have a bit to say about embroidery being an art form in the posts I made about it.) Maybe in time if there is enough interest it will have its own site. I added you to my reader, so I don’t miss your posts!
Thank you so much! I am definitely checking out Robin’s site and your blog.
You do such beautiful work, btw.
